By Gideon MacGovern Mpeni

The Malawi National team and Carara kicks stricker Atusaye Nyondo has finally put pen to paper with the defendind champions of PSL, Super Sport United.

South African teams have been chasing the signature of the former silver strikers star. Among these teams was the last years PSL champions Super Sport and Free state stars , who are currently standing on position 8 and 9 respectively.

The Matsatsatsa Epitoli have beaten Free state Stars to the signature of Nyondo.

The 20-year-old Carara kicks Player has been consistent in front of goal this season, having scored 13 league goals and four Nedbank Cup goal.

Last season Nyondo scored 11 legue goals and has finally agreed terms with the three-time legue champions and will be joining them at the start of the new season.

Super Sport’s commercial manager Jose Ferreira told soccer Laduma that they’re very happy to have him in the team.

“we have already signed him for the next three years and we have an option of two years on his contract. in other words, he is our player. we aren’t worried about other reports because we know what we have done to acquire the player at this point in time. I cannot lie to you, we are happy to have the player on our book,” he said.

“For now I can tell you that we have Nyondo and Sibusiso Zuma as our players but we are also looking at boosting the squad further with other young and experienced players, though I cannot tell you their names now because it would be premature for all parties involved. we are also looking at players from our development as well, so in a few weeks’ time I will let you know what is going on,” Ferreira concluded.

Nyondo has shown to be quick to adapt to the soccer system of South Africa and has a promising future ahead of him.
