Come up with suggestions, Kunkuyu tells Opposition

Information and Civic Education Minister Moses Kunkuyu has called upon opposition parties in the country to come up with suggestions that are going to help the State President of the Republic of Malawi Mrs Joyce Banda’s led administration to develop the country for the betterment of all Malawians.

He was apparently reacting to heavy criticism coming from some major opposition parties over a number of issues including that of declining security which has lately seen an increase in armed robberies and murder in some parts of the country.

In an interview lately monitored on State controlled Malawi Broadcasting Station (MBC), Kunkuyu expressed the need for opposition parties to come up with suggestions that are going to assist in the development of the country and not meant to destroy the government.

The minister cited opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP), United Democratic Front (UDF) and Kamlepo Kalua’s Malawi Democratic Party (MDP) as some of the parties that have been forwarding concrete suggestions to the government for its consideration.

“Opposition parties should come up with suggestions to the government and not just to criticise in an effort to pull it down. Honourable John Tembo and Kamlepo Kalua have been coming up with suggestions to the government so that lasting solutions should be found to address some of the issues affecting the country,” he told the State broadcaster.

He concluded that the door of Mrs Banda’s government is open to all political parties set to come up with suggestions to address issues affecting the people in the country.
