FAM hikes gate charges for Bullets/Moyale match

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has raised the gate charges of the Standard Bank semi-final match between Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers at the Silver stadium on Saturday.

According to a statement signed by FAM Chief Executive Officer Suzgo Nyirenda, open stand tickets are now at K1,000 from K200, and a covered stand ticket is at K3,000 from K2,000.

The statement says the adjustment has been effected for Security reasons bearing in mind that Silver Stadium has a small Sitting capacity of 15,000 and the recent matches involving the two teams had Kamuzu Stadium or CIVO Stadium filled to capacity.

It is very likely that the match will attract a big crowd and likely some supporters will be turned back and to avoid chaos, the Organizing Committee has agreed to adjust the charges.

Secondly, the Organizing Committee has adjusted the gate charges due to economic hardship that football stakeholders particularly clubs are facing as a result of high cost of living and inflation. The Blantyre teams will have to bear huge transport costs apart from costs related to their camping.

The gate charges for CIVO vs Silver Strikers match on Sunday have not been adjusted
