Sunbird,MultiChoice to hold music festival in Salima

Sunbird and MultiChoice have organized another music festival to take place along the golden sands of Lake Malawi at Livingstonia Holiday Resort in Salima, a central region lakeshore town in Malawi.

A press release from MultiChoice indicates the festival will take place on the September 29-30 and has been dubbed ‘The Summer Time Gala’.

High profile artists expected to perform at the Gala include; the popular Great Angels Choir, the Black Missionaries, Dan Lu, Maskal and Armstrong.

MultiChoice Sales and Marketing Manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda said apart from music other activities namely, arts exhibition, Beach party, Beach Soccer and Family fun will also take place.

He said designer Cathy Kamthuzi will also showcase her new line of summer designs which will be accompanied by a shop of a limited supply of some of her coveted works for enthusiasts to buy.

Sports fans will also be entertained with the live beaming the English Premier League (EPL) game between Arsenal and Chelsea on a big screen TV by the beach. MultiChioice will also launch ‘predict and win’ competition to run during the entire (EPL) season in which fans will be asked to predict results of some key games and win fabulous prizes.

The event will cost patrons K2 500 however those who buy The Weekend Times edition from next week will buy at a discount price of K2000.

Times Group Sales and Marketing Manager Dumisani Ngulube confirmed the arrangement saying The Weekend Times will be carrying a coupon which readers can cut off to buy the ticket at a discount.

Tickets can be purchased or booked at Steers in Blantyre and Lilongwe and any Sunbird Hotel in the country.
