Martha Kwataine and Undule Mwakasungula cannot support the demonstrations being planned by John Kapito to lament the high cost of living because the two are beneficiaries of the JB administration
Martha Kwataine is the chairperson of MACRA. Her appointment was made about two months ago to replace Ted Nandolo. Her relation Chief Kwataine is a friend of JB and has been made to be the centre of the maternal and safe motherhood programme. Recently he was promoted to Senior Chief and praised generously as a principled traditional leader.
Undule has benefited from the environment which this administration has created by suspending the laws against homosexuality. This means Undule has now been given the space in which he can freely promote the rights of same sex relationships without hindrance. At the back of all this is free flow of donor money to him to promote such rights.
He therefore would not side against a government that has given him the opportunity to access donor money for promotion of gays and lesbians.
Undule is also amember of PP and intends to stand for a parliamentary seat in Karonga under on a PP ticket.
Undule Mwakasungula is now one of Joyce Banda’s ardent supporters. According to our source at the State House, Mwakasungula is a frequent late evening visitor in his brand new Toyota Fortuner, wine red in colour.
Mwakasungula has been given MK198 million to advance homosexuality in Malawi. He is the one who has been pressurising JB on behalf of donors to suspend homosexuality laws immediately or else he would have to return the money to the donors and give up the brand new Fortuner.
JB has therefore directed him and Martha Kwataine to work hard to prevent the countrywide demonstrations planned for January 13, 2013.
