This is an SOS call to Malawi Government, President Joyce Banda, Foreign Affairs Minister Ephraime Chiume, Attorney General Anthony Kamanga, Minister of Justice Ralph Kasambara, Minister of Defense Ken Kandodo, Army General Odillo, Malawi Head of Intelligence and all Opposition party leaders, pull out immediately from the Forum for Former Presidents mediation talks on Lake Malawi ownership.
I repeat, pull out immediately. Please anybody close to any of these people pass the message. I am sure you are asking why now. Is it because the decks are stacked against us? Is it because our government is not aware of the conspiracy orchestrated by the most powerful and well funded interested parties? Is it because other foreign government intelligence apparatus have picked up the cable that Malawi isn’s aware of ? Is it because people entrusted to protect our country with intelligence gatherings are sitting pwii at Capital Hill drinking tea while their counterparts are traveling all over the world palm oiling decision makers on this mediation? Is it because big oil companies are in Dar es Salaam as we speak negotiating oil deals on our part of the lake and they know something Malawi Government isn’t aware of? Is it because the source of all this is classified information? I really don’t know to all these questions BUT, One thing is clear, there is no smoke without fire.
To all my friends reading this distress call, remember this day. We all have responsibility to protect our territorial borders sometimes at the expense of our jobs. I don’t know the fallout from this message on my career and access but I am proud I have done my part. As a country we should never ever cede an inch of our territory let alone our lake.
