UNIVERSITY OFFICE PRESS RELEASE

Council of the University of Malawi wishes to inform students from the Polytechnic and Chancellor College that at its meeting of 28th May, 2013, it resolved to reopen the two colleges. This action wastaken to ensure that those students who have expressed the desire to resume their classes shoulddo so without any undue hindrance.
Council would also like to take this opportunity to warn students who bar their colleagues from attending classes that it will institute disciplinary action. To this end, Council has advised colleges to write students individually so that out of their volition, they should be able to indicate that they arewilling to go back to class.
Finally, Council wishes to advise students from the two colleges that the conditions and terms under which they were admitted earlier have not changed. Hence, only those that will register after paying their tuition fees will be allowed to proceed with their studies as was the case before the colleges closed.
