6 days away before registration starts: The process will be done in 10 phases across the country starting on 22 July 2013 to 4 January 2014

Each phase will be for 14 days irrespective of holidays with 3 day transition period between end & before commencement of the next phase.

In February, MEC will receive nominations of candidates who intend to join the race.

There are 193 Constituencies. 462 wards and 4,447 registration centres across Malawi

2014 Tripartite Elections: 1 seat for presidency, 193 seats for Members of Parliament (MP) and 462 seats for Ward Councilor (WC) aspirants

The law provides that for one to contest as a Ward Councillor & MP, he or she should have attained the age of 21 at the time of nomination
While for Presidency, it is 35 years at the time of nomination.
