Malawian representatives shine in Airtel rising star tourney

Malawian representatives who flied to Nigeria on Saturday for the Airtel rising star tournament have gotten off to a beautiful and admirable start in the land where the footballing hopes of their compatriots, the Flames national team, were slaughtered not long ago.

According to results from Nigeria, the male team which is from Joyce Banda Foundation has managed to thrash Angola in their first encounter by an enviable 3 goals to 1.

The female team, on the other hand, represented by Matindi private academy has started their campaign by beating Uganda with a single goal to nil.
