JB snubs UNIMA again

Chancellor of the University of Malawi, President Joyce Banda, has once again snubbed the University in its graduation celebrations.

According to a press release from the University, the University will have its graduation for one of its classes on the 20^th of November this year at the Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe and will be presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Emmanuel Fabiano.

The communication has not apparently gone well with some of the graduates who have considered it as a betrayal by their Chancellor.

“Yes, the Chancellor of UNIMA will not be at the graduation as she will be busy distributing blankets, cows and elevating chiefs,” commented one of the graduates.

President Banda has been accused of sidelining public Universities by not gracing their graduations as the tradition has been with all her predecessors.
