BUSTED: MARDEF offering sand instead of fertilizer

Reports indicate that the Malawi Revolving Development Fund (MARDEF) fertilizer that is being loaned out to some farmers in Malawi so that they pay back the loan after harvesting is nothing but a charade and lies.

According to what Face of Malawi has unveiled, most farmers who have received the fertilizer have been astonished to discover that there is little of fertilizer in the bags but much of sand.

“This is not fertilizer, it is sand mixed with some other things,” said a dejected farmer in Mulanje.

Another beneficiary of the sand as well lamented the situation and said that he will not pay back the loan even at gun-point.

“What will I pay for, the sand?” lamented he.

Last year, the fertilizer subsidy programme was as well dogged by the same issue of containing sands in the supposed to be fertilizer bags.
