Chimodzi to take over Flames

Former Flames player, Young ‘Ayugo’ Chimodzi, has been appointed the new coach of the Malawi national team, The Flames, reports indicate.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) on Saturday disclosed that it had a new technical panel in place but failed short of announcing the names as it said it was waiting for an approval from the Ministry of Sports on the names.

Finally, it appears, they have gotten the nod and the football administrating body has announced the names.

In a statement, FAM has indicated that Young Chimodzi will be the head coach of the flames and he will be assisted by veteran Jack Chamangwana.

After their failure to qualify for the World Cup, the Malawi national team have had no coach as the care-taker coach then, Belgian Tom Saintfiet, was fired.
