The Tanzanian Chess Association has invited Malawi to an International friendly scheduled to take place in Tanzania in few Weeks to come.
Chess Association of Malawi (CHESSAM) Northern Region League Chairman Isaac Mumba said this upon arrival from Tanzania where he went to attend the TCA which has just been registered by the World Chess Federation.
“As you are aware, i went to Tanzania to witness the launch of Tanzanian Chess Association while there, the Association invited us to play them in a friendly “, he said.
Mumba however said that only players from the Northern Region will be picked to represent Malawi in the East African country.
The decision to pick only Northern Region based Chess players raised an alarm among players and fans who asked for Justification.
One of the Officials who graced the TCA launch was the Russian Chess genius and former World Chess Champion, Garry Kasparov.
