CHAKWERA TO ACCEPT THE RESULT

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Presidential torchbearer Dr Lazarus Chakwera has said he will accept the outcome of the just recent held tripartite election regardless of whosoever wins.

He said this during the press briefing he conducted in Lilongwe today.

In his speech, Chakwera urged his party followers not to be disappointed with the unofficial results  being aired by some local radio station in the country saying official results will be announced by Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).

He further said he is aware of the irregularities that locked the election and urged MEC to look into the matter with sober minds.

Unofficial results indicate that MCP is coming second with Democratic Progress Party (DPP).

Meanwhile the ruling People’s Party (PP) has strongly challenged the polls and the party has accused the DPP of rigging the polls.
