MULUZI’S EX TAKES OATH OF OFFICE

Former President Bakili Muluzi’s ex-wife, Patricia Shanil was among the group of Parliamentarians that were sworn in today at the New Parliament Building in Lilongwe.

This was after Patricia Shanil who now does not use the Muluzi name anymore but uses her maiden name of Dzimbiri won the Parliamentary elections of Balaka West having had defeated other 5 contestants.

It will be an interesting ride in Parliament as Patricia Shanil will be coming face to face with her ex step-son Atupele who is the UDF leader and has been tipped to be voted as Speaker of Parliament by the DPP and UDF team among other independent MPs.

Apart from Patricia Shanil, other notable figures that were sworn in today included Lazarus Chakwera, George Chaponda, Lucius Banda and David Bisnowaty.
