The State House through its Press Officer has disclosed that the Malawi’s Fist Couple [President Author Peter Mutharika and Gertrude Hendrina Mutharika] who tied their knot over the Weekend at St Michaels and All Angels in Blantyre, they will not immediately go for celebratory wedding vacation as per-tradition.
State House Press Officer Justice Mponda disclosed this in an interview on Monday with one of the local daily paper in the country.
“The president says honeymoon is not a priority in the meantime, so they will not go anywhere. However, they will do at a later stage”, said Mponda
He further said Mutharika felt he had a lot of work to do in transforming the country’s economy which is at the verge of collapse.
Mutharika 74 is the third President to get married while holding the high office.
