BULLETS DEMOLISHES ZOMBA UNITED TO BE CROWNED CARLSBERG CUP CHAMPIONS

One of the football Power house in the country Big Bullets on Sunday thrashed Zomba United 2-0 at a jam parked Kamuzu Stadium to be crowned Champions of the Carlsberg Cup.

The People’s team started the game on a high note making the young chaps from old capital to find it hard to contain the pressure.

Three minutes on the clock, Bullets had more than four shots at goal but Zomba utd’s goalie Francisco Mwambo was equal to the task.

Zomba united was seen all over the ground chasing shadows of the experienced team which was angry for goals.

No wonder Bullets effort to search for goals paid off on 35 minutes into the first half as they scored a goal from a corner kick from Fitcher Kondowe which was converted to a goal by Victor Limbani through a header.

The goal gave Bullets an edge over the visitors who were far from taming Bullets’s pace and 4 minutes before the interval, Limbani could have added a second goal but his 35 mitre drive was blocked by Wado Ching’oma who together with Makayi and Isaac Nankopa did a very wonderful job in man-marking Mussah Manyenje and Jimmy Zakazaka.

Come second half, Zomba utd were forced to make an early substitution, bringing in Lawrence Kadeya for the injured Luka Magaleta.

Bullets started the second half from where they stopped , attacking, attacking. No wonder seven minutes into the second half Bullets increased the lead through Henry Magesi Kabichi.

Things got worse for the roockies on the 32nd minute when Edson Duwa was given the marching orders by referee Patrick Ngoleka following A rough tackle on Dalitso Sailesi.

Bullets mounted a strong defence denying Zomba an equalizer.

After the game, Bullets Coach Elijah Kananji said his boys played according to his instructions.

“We have unmatched quality which saw us win the trophy,” said Kananji.

While his counterpart, Zomba United Coach Noel Gobede congratulated Bullets for grabbing the Cup.

Bullets went away with K9 million plus a trophy while Zomba United went away with K4million.
