A thirty eight-year-old man is in Ntchisi has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old epileptic girl.
The suspect Patrick Kamuyamba hails from Chiwale village in the area of Traditional Authority Chilooko in the district.
According to Malomo Police Unit detective sub inspector Orphan Mkhalipi, the incident occurred on August 21 this year at Chiwale village in the area of Traditional Authority Chilooko in the district.
“The girl’s mother had gone to the garden after some women asked her to sell them vegetables,” said Mkhalipi.
He said when the victim’s mother came back from the garden and upon reaching home,
She saw the suspect coming out from the victim’s domitary and the suspect ran away.
The matter was reported to Malomo Police Unit where the girl’s mother was given a medical report for examination at Malomo Health Centre.
Mkhalipi said medical examinations conducted at Malomo Health Centre had shown that the girl was defiled.
The suspect is expected to appear in court soon to answer the charges of defilement.
