President Peter Mutharika  who is in the United States of  America for a 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly,is today expected to meet United Nations General Secretary, Ban Ki-Moon  at  the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Deputy Presidential Press Secretary Timpunza Mwansambo, confirmed of the development but refused share more details, only saying that the meeting will last for an hour.

At the meeting, Mutharika will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister George Chaponda, Chief Secretary to the government George Mkondiwa, Aambassador to the United States of America Charles Msosa, Presidential advisor on economics Dr. Collins Magalasi and Chief Executive Assistant to the President, Lindiwe Chide.

Mutharika is expected to meet different people including head of state, investors and Malawians living in USA among others.

So far, the countries of Kazakhstan and Kosovo have expressed interest of working with the Malawi government while the Spain republic has promised to give Malawi a grant of $ 5 million which is equivalent to 2 Billion Malawi Kwacha to be meant for improving access to social services and sanitation.
