Representatives of an engineering company Mota Engil have disclosed that they are set to start expanding operations in the country despite the near completion of most of their major projects.
Mota Engil Company has been involved in various multi-billion kwacha infrastructural projects.
Among other major projects, the company is constructing various road networks including the Blantyre-Zomba road.
The company is also currently constructing a one billion dollar rail way from Mozambique passing through Malawi.
These projects are expected to be finished before the end of this year.
The company’s Production Manager Emmanuel Chimtengo revealed that the company is planning to make Malawi its hub.
”the company is looking for other ways of expanding its business in Malawi by investing in various sectors and investing in other structures like the Nacala railway project has got a camp, camp 32 in Zalewa and when the project is completed that camp will be maintained its going to be a regional headquarters for Mota Engil” Said Chimtengo.
