A man is reported dead while five others have sustained serious injuries after being electrocuted by a live wire in Mangochi.
Mangochi Police have confirmed of the incident with the Press.
According to the eye witness, the men were travelling in a trailer of a tractor after knocking off from work.
The deceased, Atibu Mussa and his workmates are said to have been debating as to whether the electric wire could shock someone or not, until he volunteered to try. He died on the spot.
The electric shock waves passed on to other people in the tractor who then were jerked out of the trailer thereby sustaining serious injuries.
Mussa hails from Nkumbira village in the area of Traditional Authority Bwananyambi in the district.
