Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) officers on Wednesday impounded Indian hemp (Chamba) weighing 29.5kgs at Mwanza Border.
Confirming the development Wilma Chalulu Marketing and Communications Manager for MRA said the illicit drug was found in an Intercape bus which was coming from South Africa.
Chalulu disclosed that the owner Prisca Musesa was arrested on the spot.
The hemp, which is currently in Police custody, was disguised in well packaged bricks, sealed in a carton and suspected to be destined to another country.
Chalulu urged the general public across the country public not to hesitate but tip the Authority about malpractices such as smuggling drugs.
