President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika will today Wednesday 21, 2015 visit a number of areas hit by heavy floods in Nsanje and Chikwawa Districts.
The trip to the lower shire comes barely days after he also visited flood victims in the eastern districts of Balaka and Mangochi.
According to the statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) released on Tuesday signed by Acting Presidential Press Secretary Timpuza W.G Mwansambo Mwale, the President will from 10 o’clock in the morning, Visit Bangula in Nsanje then Solijeni, Konzele, Chizola, and Sekeni 1 in Chikwawa District.
“The President once gain extends condolences and great sympathy to the affected families, on the loss of their loved ones. May their souls rest in eternal peace”, reads in part the statement.
On Tuesday last week, President Mutharika declared 15 districts affected by the floods as disaster zone with the waste hit districts being Chikwawa, Nsanje, Karonga and Mangochi and he appealed for well-wishers both local and International to help the affected families.
Since Mutharika made the declaration a number of organisations both local and international as well as countries have been coming forward to help the flood victims in the country.
