The Kenyan Government in partnership with Wanachi Group has donated about K472-million to flood victims in the country.
A statement from Wanachi Group providers of Zuku TV Services in Africa says the donation has been made since the group believes in investing and supporting communities where they operate.
The Group’s Chief Executive Officer for Wanachi Group Richard Alden, said he was optimistic that the donation will go a long way in supporting those affected or displaced.
Alden said the funds would assist in buying food stuffs, water, medical supplies and other basic utilities.
Receiving the donation in Nairobi Kenya was Malawi’s outgoing High Commissioner Brigadier General Marcel Chirwa retired.
Chirwa said an estimated US$81-million was required to rebuild Malawi following the devastating floods.
