A-39-year old man has been shot dead by armed thugs in the capital Lilongwe for allegedly shouting for help following a robbery attack at his neighbor’s house on Tuesday night.
Lilongwe Police Spokesperson Kingsley Dandaula confirmed of the development in an interview with Press and identified the deceased as Dickson Khofi.
According to Dandaula, the armed thugs who were 20 in number invaded the house of Prince Kumbuyo Nkhoma, an IT Manager at Get Bucks in Lilongwe at around 11 pm.
“Upon noticing that it was armed robbers, Khofi who was on his way to find out what was happening to his neighbours house started shouting for help.
The development prompted the robbers to shot Khofi in the Chest and he died on the spot,” said Dandaula.
Dandaula said the armed robbers went away with money amounting to MK58,000, laptop and other items.
Postmortem results conducted at Kamuzu Central Hospital revealed that the deceased died of heavy loss of blood caused by gunshot.
Meanwhile no one has been arrested in connection to the robbery attack.
