The government has said the national examinations beginning in April will go ahead as planned. The ministry of education publicity spokesperson Manfred Ndovie said this yesterday.
This comes after reports that teachers in Blantyre and Lilongwe are planning not to administer the national examinations because of delayed leave grants and February salaries.
Manfred Ndovie has assured the nation that the examinations will still proceed, as the ministry is finalizing giving the teachers their leave grants and salaries.
Teachers in Malawi have over the years been complaining of poor remuneration and delays in getting their monthly salaries.
