Church of Central African Presbytarian (CCAP) of Livingstonia Synod in the Northern part of Malawi has suspended reverend Chimwemwe Mhango who was serving at Kanengo congregation in Lilongwe.
Mhango has been suspended following his refusal to honour his post to Euthini congregation from Kanengo player house.
CCAP Livingstonia Synod General Secretary, reverend Levi Nyondo confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press.
“I can confirm that reverend Chimwemwe Mhango has been suspend for not following Church rules and he is not allowed to administer any holy sacraments,” Nyondo was quoted as saying.
On his part, Mhango confirmed of the development, saying only God will prove him wrong on the matter.
The decision to have him moved to Euthini forced members of the Kanengo congregation to storm to the synod’s headquarters in Mzuzu so as to challenge the decision. The efforts proved to be futile as the failed to produce the desired outcome.
Then Mhango took a break without informing the synod which has triggered his dismissal.
