Speaker of Malawi National Assembly Richard Msowoya was on Thursday involved in road Accident in Kasungu district.

According to the eyewitness who confided to FaceofMalawi, said the accident happened at Chisephere turnoff along the M1 road.

Police in Kasungu have confirmed of the accident, saying Msowoya hit a cyclist who was pronounced dead upon arrival at Kasungu District Hospital.

According to Police, Msowoya who was driving his official vehicle hit the cyclist as he was trying to cross the road at Chisephere turn off.

Meanwhile investigations are in progress to establish the cause of the accident.
