GOVT PSs SEE THE OTHER SIDE OF CHILIMA: BARRED FROM ATTENDING A MEETING

Some government top officials including Principal Secretaries (PSs) could not believe their ears on Friday as they were told not to attend a meeting convened by the Country’s Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima due to late coming.

It is said that the Vice President held a meeting on Friday at Capitol Hill aiming at informing the officials of changes government is expected to implement under the Public Service Reforms Programme.

According to inside sources, before for the meeting an instruction was issued that anyone coming after Chilima had taken his seat should not be allowed in.

This was so because of some tendency by some government officials who always report very late in various meetings.

One of the officers who were locked out of the meeting confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press , saying it was so embarrassing.

When approached for the comment, Vice President’s spokesperson Pilirani Phiri asked for more time on the matter.

FaceofMalawi understand that some government officials have a tendency of arriving late at any meeting convened by Chilima and this was done to teach them a lesson.
