TRUCK FIRE UPDATES: GUTTED TRUCK BELONGS TO TDB ENTERPRISES OF ZIMBABWE

Police have identified the truck that was gutted by fire at Dedza boarder around 12 noon today as belonging to TDB Enterprises, a Zimbabwean company.

The truck is said to have carried salt from Zimbabwe to Rab Processors Limited in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Speaking in an interview, Dedza Police Public Relations Officer Edward Kabango said the fire incident was due to a wiring fault.

But an eyewitness who confided to FaceofMalawi said the fire emanated from a gas which was in use during the time of the accident by unknown Woman who accompanied the truck driver.

Kabango said the trailer which was carrying thirty tonnes of salt has not been affected.
