FORM 1 STUDENT DIES IN CAR ACCIDENT

What started as an entertaining day for Kabuwa Community Day Secondary School ended sour after a bus they were travelling in was involved in an accident killing one student in the process.

The journey for 16 year old Wilson Chinyama, a form one student at Kabuwa CDSS ended prematurely as he died while receiving treatment at Nkhotakota District Hospital due to multiple injuries he sustained during the accident.

According to Nkhunga Police Public Relations Officer Austin Kaunda, the minibus carried about fifteen passengers mostly Kabuwa students from Tukombo CDSS where learners from the two schools had a football match.

“The students were travelling from Tukombo CDSS where their team played against the other school. Upon reaching Mkoma Bridge around Kasitu area in Nkhotakota, the driver failed to negotiate a curve which joins the bridge thereby losing control of the vehicle” he said.

He said the vehicle, Toyota Hiace registration number 1597 which was driven by 35 year old Fazil Jabilu hit pillars before falling into dirty verge of the road.

Fourteen other people including the driver sustained severe serious injuries and as we went to press they were still receiving treatment at Nkhotakota District Hospital.

Chinyama hailed from Mphiri Village Traditional Authority Khosolo in Mzimba district. mana
