MSAKA APPOINTED DPP GOVERNOR FOR EASTERN REGION

The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has appointed Minister of Energy, Natural Resources and Environment, Bright Msaka as its eastern region governor.

Msaka replaces Yunus Musa whom according to the Party has been assigned to head other departments within the Party.

Minister of Information and Civic Education Jappie Mhango who is also national governing council member confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

Others have described Msaka’s appointment as part of appeasement due to the fact that he is one of the long serving members.

Msuka was among those people arrested by the then ruling People’s Party (PP) under President Dr. Joyce Banda.

Msuka together with Patricia Kaliati, Goodall Gondwe, Nicholas Dausi, Kondwani Nankhumwa and Henry Mussa were charged of treason.
