CLASH OF EVENTS CAUSES SHIFT OF BUSY SIGNAL GIG

Due to the clash in dates with the Morgan Heritage concert, organized by Born Afrikan productions on April 30, the gig for Busy signal has been postponed to the last Sunday of the month of May announces Impact Events, organizers of Sand Festival Malawi.

Born Afrikan Productions want to bring the Jamaican multi-platinum group for the second time following issues that arose from their last performance in Malawi whilst Impact Events’ aim is to amass more support for the 2016 edition of the Sand Festival.

“We noted that unfortunately, we are sharing the same date with Born Afrikan productions that are also bringing Morgan Heritage for the second time. We negotiated with our agent, Spencer Mutemasengo to plead with other promoters in all the countries involved in this new tour to shift the dates.”
Director of Sand Music Festival, Lucius Banda, said in an interview. According to Banda the event has since been shifted to May.

“We are all brothers as we share the same motive: bring entertainment to Malawi through inter-national shows. Therefore, we have shifted the event to the last Sunday of May. The venue is not certain, but, there has been strong voice from Blantyre, asking that the show be held in the city as most international gigs take place in Lilongwe. So the probability of is high that the show might be in Blantyre.” he said.

Born Afrikan acknowledged in a separate interview that holding the two big shows on the same day had repercussions.

“Most likely it will divide fans. We wanted it to do the show on the first of May but realized that it was workers day then decided why not on the 30th of April so the people can rest and relax on the first of May. For us, we are negotiating for the same venue.” he said.
