MORGAN HERITAGE COMING BACK TO MALAWI

Jamaican music group, Morgan Heritage is set to return to Malawi on April 30 for MUSIC UNITE FESTIVAL, faceofMalawi can reveal.

Born African Productions have confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the local daily papers in the country [Nation Newspaper).
The April show schedule comes barely weeks after the grouping was heavily criticized by Malawians in the country for using CD’s in their show in the capital Lilongwe at Silver Stadium.

Reggae fans accused the group of duping them and asked Music Association Malawi (MAM) President Chimwemwe Mhango to act on the issue.

Reacting to the claims, group admitted it could not give Malawian audience the desired live band performance as some of its members did not make the trip.

“Everyone that was there showed us nothing but love even though they did not get the full band. We could’ve chosen to postpone the show but when speaking with Born African Productions, we expressed our love and desire to still come to Malawi to do something from our hearts for the people BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.

“Many times in the past promoters could not bring the full band and this time we agreed that a few of the members of the group would come to Malawi to at least let the people see us and receive an appetizer. It was important for us not to be like previous attempts where negations didn’t materialize,” said Mojo.

He added: “So we want to take this time to assure all Malawians that at our show in 2016 the full band will be there with better production BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY and as compensation we will guarantee that the ticket price will be half of what everyone paid last night.”

Patrons to the show had to pay K10,000 for an advance ticket and K15,000 on the door while on VIP paid K25,000.

Morgan Heritage is a reggae band formed in 1994 by five children of reggae artist Denroy Morgan. The group comprises of Peter “Peetah” Morgan, Una Morgan, Roy “Gramps” Morgan, Nakhamyah “Lukes” Morgan and Memmalatel.
