ZINGWANGWA MASSACRE UPDATES: POLICE REVEALS IDENTITIES OF THE DECEASED

Following a story that we carried on Monday of Zingwangwa Township where a businessman gunned down his wife and stepson before taking his own life, Police have revealed the identities of the three deceased.

Blantyre Police Spokesperson Elizabeth Divala identified the three as Charles Chipanda, 52, Grace Kabula Chipanda, 44, and stepson Gift, a pupil at St. Pius Primary School.

Divala said the police recovered a pistol and a suspected suicide note ‘signed’ both by the man and the woman.

She said that the police believe the woman was ‘forced’ to sign the note, alleging that she was cheating on her husband.

According to Divala, the suicide note contains the confession made by the wife saying she was seeing another man.

Divala also disclosed that was working as a store clerk at Soche Anglican Church.

The remains of three were referred to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital for postmortem on Monday afternoon.

Meanhwile residents in Zingwangwa Township are deeply shocked with the development.
