MSUNGAMA’s ARREST UPDATES: ULADI, MATOLA STORM KANENGO POLICE STATION

Opposition People’s Party (PP) Interim President Uladi Mussa this morning stormed Kanengo Police in solidarity for the arrested Malawi Congress Party (MCP) member Ulemu Msungama.

Msungama was arrested on Sunday over the leaked Whatssap message where he is alleged to have said that there is need to overthrow President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

But Msungama claims the WhatsApp messages were doctored to ensure arbitrary arrests for government critics and opposition MCP members.
Mussa was flanked by PP Secretary General Ibrahim Matola.

On Sunday, MCP President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera also visited Msungama at the station to find out why he has been arrested.

Speaking after the visit, Chakwera said the Party will do whatever it can to protect Msungama.

Meanwhile MCP’s Spokesperson Jessie Kabwila is currently at large as Police are hunting for her.
