MPS to punish Police officers caught drinking Chibuku while on duty

As the picture showing Police officers drinking Chibuku bear with a lady believed to be a commercial sex worker continue to make headlines on the social media, the Malawi Police Service (MPS) has come out of the cocoon to clear the mess.

The picture shows three police officers in uniform and a civilian woman wearing a police cap drinking Chibuku.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Times, National Police Spokesperson Nicholas Gondwa says the said Police officers will face the law soon.

He said the three are from Central Region Police and their identities have been revealed.

Gondwa also revealed that Police are hunting for the owners of the three caps appearing in the picture.

Meanwhile Malawians have strongly condemned the behavior displayed by Police officers in the picture, saying it’s an embarrassing to the Malawi Police.
