DPP Symbol: Mice, Grasshopper replaces Maize cobs

As criticisms continue over President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s remarks that Malawians should start eating mice and grasshoppers as part of food supplement, FaceofMalawi can reveal that a new DPP logo has been introduced.

The new logo which is hovering on the social media seen by FOM’s reporter has been designed to suit recent remarks by President Mutharika.

The new logo has seen Mice and grasshoppers replacing three maize cobs that the Party is known for across the country.

The logo has attracted mixed reactions among Malawians with others describing it as a mockery to President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s recent remarks.

On Saturday, Mutharika told people who gathered at Limbuli in Mulanje that they should cast their net wider when it comes to food by eating mice and grasshoppers.

He said time of relying on food only is over.

But reacting to the criticisms, Minister of Information Patricia Kalitati said Mutharika was just cracking some jokes.

Kaliati said Mutharika’s administration is doing everything that is possible to safeguard the people of Malawi from consequences of natural disasters, which have resulted in food shortages.
