Govt introduces user fees in National Libraries effective July 1

As one way of soliciting money to support the 2016/17 national budget presented by Minister of Finance and Economic Development Goodall Gondwe, government has introduced user fee in national libraries across the country.

According to a notice posted at National Library Blantyre Branch notice board seen by FaceofMalawi reporter, the user fees is effective July 1, 2016.

“This is to notify our valued clients that with effect from 01 July, daily library user fee will be introduced as follows: ADULTS: K100 CHILDREN: K50.

“All other service charges remain unchanged until further notice,” reads in part the statement.

Government also announced the introduction of user fee in all district hospitals effective July 1.

The government said the fee will enhance good health services delivery in public hospitals.
