Road accident claims life in Mzimba

A five year old boy is reported dead while two other people are battling for their lives at Mzimba District Hospital after a vehicle they were travelling in was involved in road accident in Mzimba.

Northern Region Police Spokesperson Peter Kalaya confirmed of the accident in an interview with the press.

According to Kalaya, the accident happened near Mbawala village along Kanjuchi/Nkhamenya road.

Kalaya said the driver of the vehicle was trying to overtake three vehicles in a roll and in the process he lost control of it hence the accident.

According to Kalaya, the child identified as Stonald Mwale died of head injuries.

Meanwhile the driver of the vehicle identified as Harry Mwale is in police custody and will appear in court soon.
