On Tuesday around morning hours, the residents in Dedza have witnessed an accident at Masasa-Monkey Road where one person, who identified as Abdu Chilembwe died on the same spot on.
According to Dedza Police Deputy Spokesperson Constable Cassim Manda, the accident took place at a place known as Mwanza, and it happened due to overspreading.
The constable Manda noticed a vehicle registration number MH2359, a Toyota Dyna, which was going to Golomoti and had five passengers on board which involved in accident.
He further explained that the driver, Alesta Ketozi lost control as a vehicle was in excessive speed, it then overturned twice.
Other involved in this accident are Andrew Idi, Mr Nopomo Haji Tiger, sustained serious injuries’
They are currently receiving treatment at Dedza District Hospital
While the three others sustained minor injuries.
The deceased hailed from Nkope Village, traditional authority Nankumba in Mangochi.
