It is very sad as each day fails to pass without registering road accidents, recently a vehicle in Nkhotakota overturned several times before it killed a woman and a girl while others injured.
According to Nkhotakota Police Public Relations Officer Williams Kaponda identified the woman as Fatuma Zidadi, 45, and the girl as Hajati Awame, 8.
He said the accident involved a Toyota Dyna with registration number MC 5254 which was being driven by Hamza Hamiss Banda while having 22 women and children on board who were going to Lilongwe.
It has been reported that the driver lost control due to over speeding as they reached reached Kapanga village then it overturned.
The woman and the girl were died on the same spot and medical results revealed that they died due to excessive loss of blood.
While 20 passengers sustained injuries, among them 17 have minor ones and all were taken Nkhotakota District Hospital except one who was taken to Kamuzu Central Hospital to receive treatment due to internal injuries.
Both the deceased hailed from Chamba Village, Traditional Authority Malengachanzi in Nkhotakota.
