Human right activist Billy Mayaya on Wednesday mocked President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika by greeting people using his left hand after his release from police cell.

Mayaya’s use of left hand in greeting people comes barely days after President Mutharika shocked Malawians when he greeted his Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima using left hand at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA).

Mayaya together with two other Malawians were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly staging unlawful demonstrations in the capital Lilongwe against persistent power outages in the country and the three spent a night in Police cell.

Dozens of civil rights activists and politicians were at the court and these inciuded suspended Malawi Congress Party publicist Jessie Kabwila, chairman of the Centre for the Development of the People, Macdonald Sembereka, and Human Rights Consultative Committee chairman Robert Mkwezalamba.

After his release, Mayaya surprised everyone when he started greeting people who stormed the court with left hand.

One of those people who benefited from Mayaya’s greetings which depicted that of Mutharika on his arrival from United States of America was Jessie Kabwila.

Mayaya went further by saying he was 101 percent fit.

The ctivist’s conducted has been described as a mockery to President Mutharika who is unable to use his right hand due to sickness.
