Njauju murder suspect denied bail

As Malawians are eagerly waiting for the truth to come out on the death of Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director of Corporate Affairs, Issa Njauju, the High Court in Lilongwe have denied bail a police officer who was arrested last month in connection to the incident.

Last month Police in Lilongwe arrested Titus Thombozi who was working at Mchinji Police Station for allegedly having a hand in the gruesome murder of Njauju.

According to information gathered by FaceofMalawi, Thombozi appeared before the court on Wednesday last week where his bail application was denied.

Judge Ivy Kamanga denied the suspect bail because the 90-day period given for investigations of murder cases, before trial have not elapsed.

So far three people have been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of Njauju on July 2, 2015 and his body was discovered two days later behind Presidential Villas in the capital Lilongwe.

Post-mortem results revealed that Njauju’s body had bullet wounds on the neck and stomach.

His official vehicle was later found burnt along Ntandire Road within the city.
