Man stabs brother at sister’s funeral in Mzuzu

A 35 year old man is in Police custody in Mzuzu for allegedly stabbing his brother at his sister’s funeral Alice Mwandira aged 27 who was murdered between 20th and 21st November 2016 at Botanic Gardens by unknown thugs.

Mzuzu Police Station deputy spokesperson, Cecilia Mfune confirmed of the development in an interview with press and identified the suspect as Hastings Mwandira.

According to Mfune, the suspect will be taken to court soon to answer a case of unlawful wounding.

“He was drunk. Having some misunderstandings with the brother, he stubbed the brother twice on the stomach. The brother is now at Mzuzu Central Hospital receiving treatment”, said Mfune.

Alice Mwandira was first rapped and gruesomely killed by the said thugs who are currently on the run.

Mwandira hails from Shonga Village, Traditional Authority Mtwalo in Mzimba.
