Lightening torches a house in Thyolo

As heavy rains continue to wreak havoc across the country, lightening has razed down an iron sheet roofed house in Thyolo district.

The accident happened in the area of Village Headman Chibwana, Traditional Authority Nchilamwela on Monday.

In a related development, over two hundred families in Mangochi have been rendered homeless following heavy storm that hit the district over the weekend.

According to information at hand, the whirlwind which blew from the south east causing infrastructure damage to public structures such as schools and religious institutions left six people seriously injured.

Three people have since been referred to Mangochi District Hospital.

Meanwhile Member of Parliament for Mangochi East Abunaker Mbaya has appealed to wellwishers to provide the affected communities with relief items.
