Mafikizolo to perform in Malawi from December 22

South Africa’s platinum selling Afro-pop group, Mafikizolo has been billed to perform two concerts in Blantyre and Lilongwe on 22 and 23 December respectively.

The multi-award winning duo has already been in the country twice, firstly in 2012 and 2014 at Lake of Stars.

This year, they are scheduled to perform at BICC in Lilongwe and Robins Park in Blantyre at the events which have been dubbed “Summer Jam Africa”.

Speaking in an interview with Malawi News Agency on Friday, Fepo Music Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Felina Sakhala said people should expect great performances at both events which will also provide a platform for upcoming artists to showcase their talents to the public.

“As Fepo Music Entertainment, we have put a lot of effort in scouting for new talent and nourish it until it shines through hence we have a lineup of upcoming artists that will curtain raise the event,” Said the CEO who has also signed two Mzuzu based dancehall artists namely Flava and Virus.

Also on the lineup are Blaze, Ril B, Nesnes and Roy View.

Quizzed on why they decided to bring back Mafikizolo, Sakhala responded: “The act is very hot and doing well on the music scene. They are loved by Malawians and they also have Malawi in their minds hence their new hit single is a Chewa song called “Kucheza”.

Other artists to spice up the events include Lulu, Piksy, Theo Thomson, King Soja, Shumza (South Africa), Ambani (of marry me hit song with DJ Call me) and Jazz Kid.

According to Sakhala, the act is expected to arrive in the country on 21st December at KIA.

The three-time winners of the South African Music Award for Group or Duo of the Year, consists of Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Nciza.

The group’s hit singles include ‘Meet me at the river”, “Ndihamba Nawe”, “Khona” and “Emlanjeni” among others. Fepo Ama Peshe
