Mother, son hit to death after falling from Kabaza bicycle in Ntcheu

A woman and her biological son have been killed by a moving truck in Ntcheu after falling from Kabaza bicycle.

Ntcheu police Public Relations Officer, Hastings Chigalu confirmed of the accident in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) and identified the deceased as Evelesi Tchado, 31, and six-year-old Anthony Tchado.

According to Chigalu, the cyclist Boniface Huwa 23 years-old was trying to avoid a stationary vehicle and he switched lanes without checking if at all any vehicle was coming on his way hence the accident.

“The cyclist then was hit by a trailer of freightliner truck registration CZ120, belonging to Zachilomwe transport resulting to the death of the two who fall from the Kabaza,” said Chigalu.

Evelesi and Anthony died on spot due to head injuries and loss of blood while the cyclist escaped with minor injuries and he is receiving treatment at Ntcheu District Hospital.
