School rules are supposed to be obeyed and respected. If a student goes beyond the rules he/she is supposed to receive a punishment according to the nature of the rule the student has breached.

Even though the issue sounds fair like that, there are some teachers and headteachers who overuse their powers by giving punishments to students above the type of offense they have made and the type of punishment they were supposed to get. This is cause abuse.

A Nigerian Facebook user, Utibe Michael has revealed how her brother was brutalized by his school’s principal.

The principal did that to the boy simply because he failed to show up at school.

According to Utibe, her brother couldn’t show up because he was sick, a thing that the principal didn’t put into consideration when giving the punishment to the student.
