Police officer battered after caught stealing in Ntcheu

Unconfirmed reports indicate that a Police Officer identified as Constable Ralph Banda of Ntcheu Police station and other two civilians were caught red handed in attempt to break into a shop to steal last night at Ntonda, in Ntcheu.

According to reports, residents in the area got a wind of situation before the police officer and other thieves managed to steal unnoticed.

The village mob landed on them, got them beaten to near death until the police came to their rescue.

Some police officers reported to get injured in the process of rescuing them as such furious mob justice could not let it be done easily.
